You want me to lift how much? I couldn't believe what I was hearing. My trainer had just said something about lifting my own weight! I was stunned and incredulous. I had joined the gym to burn fat and build muscle, ideally as quickly as possible. In short, I wanted to slim down and tone up. Everyone knows the fastest way to build muscle is high repetitions with low weights followed by cardio, right? Now my high-priced trainer is mouthing off about lifting my own weight. What is he thinking?
